Without bees we would all feel the sting….

This summer I have been enjoying all the fabulous farmer’s markets here in Portland.  All the gorgeous fruits and vegetables – a real treat for all your senses.

Imagine these  markets without the help of bees – no gorgeous fruits and vegetables….one third of the food we eat depends on the pollination work of these bees.  And bees are in trouble.  Experts call the problem “Colony Collapse Disorder” and they know that pesticides are part of the problem.

One of my favorite letterpress lines here at Ecru is Smock and this year they started a series of  “Change the World” cards.  They created this beautiful letterpress sunflower card that 100% of the profits support the Pesticide Action Network.  PAN works to replace the use of hazardous pesticides with ecological sound and socially just alternatives.

Each box of these letter pressed cards has 6 cards and envelopes and includes a packet of organic bee-friendly sunflower seeds.  $15.00 each.  Stop in and grab a box before they disappear!
